The Skin Restoration Room was created with a purpose that goes far beyond traditional tattooing. It is a private studio dedicated to helping people restore the appearance of skin affected by surgery, scars, stretch marks, pigment changes, hair loss, and other life experiences that can change the way we see ourselves.
I’m Milena Sparaga, founder and artist behind The Skin Restoration Room. My background as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse has given me years of experience working directly with people, understanding anatomy and skin, performing highly detailed procedures, and—perhaps most importantly—listening to the person behind the concern.
My transition into restorative and paramedical tattooing felt like a natural extension of that experience.
Why I Started The Skin Restoration Room
Throughout my career, I have seen that healing does not always end when a wound closes or a procedure is completed.
A scar may be medically healed but still serve as a daily reminder of surgery, trauma, illness, or a difficult chapter in someone’s life. Breast reconstruction may restore the physical form of the breast while leaving someone feeling that something is still missing. Hair loss, stretch marks, or changes in pigmentation can affect confidence in ways that are deeply personal.
I created The Skin Restoration Room because I wanted to work in that space between healing and feeling whole again.
Sometimes restoration means creating a realistic 3D areola after breast surgery or after gender-affirming surgery. Sometimes it means blending a scar or stretch marks so they are less noticeable. Sometimes it means recreating the appearance of hair through scalp or beard micropigmentation.
And sometimes it simply means helping someone feel comfortable looking in the mirror again.
That is why our philosophy is:
Restoring Confidence. Revealing You.
My Background & Training
My approach to restorative tattooing is shaped by both my healthcare background and specialized training in paramedical and cosmetic tattoo techniques.
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, my professional experience has required precision, detailed assessment, infection-control awareness, procedural discipline, and an understanding that every person—and every body—is different.
I have expanded that foundation through specialized education and hands-on training in restorative tattoo artistry, including techniques involving:
Scar camouflage
Stretch mark camouflage
3D areola restoration
Areola pigment restoration and refresh
Scalp micropigmentation
Beard micropigmentation
Pigment restoration and camouflage techniques
My training has included both formal coursework and hands-on mentorship and internship experience with experienced artists, allowing me to continue refining not only technique, but also pigment selection, color theory, skin assessment, needle selection, placement, realism, and long-term treatment planning.
I believe this field requires continual education. Techniques evolve, pigments improve, and our understanding of how different skin types heal and retain pigment continues to grow. I remain committed to advancing my skills rather than treating certification as the end of my education.
What Makes The Skin Restoration Room Different
The Skin Restoration Room was intentionally designed around restoration rather than transformation.
My goal is not to make every scar disappear or promise perfection. It is to understand what bothers you, evaluate what can realistically be improved, and develop an individualized approach that respects your skin, your history, and your goals.
My healthcare background also influences how I approach every service. I naturally think about skin integrity, healing, contraindications, sanitation, pigment response, previous procedures, and long-term outcomes—not simply what something will look like immediately after a session.
Equally important is the environment in which that work takes place.
Many of the people who come to The Skin Restoration Room are sharing something deeply personal. A scar may have a story. An areola restoration may follow breast cancer and reconstruction. Hair loss or vitiligo may have affected someone’s confidence for years.
Those experiences deserve privacy, patience, dignity, and time.
That is why consultations are an important part of the process. We discuss what you would like to change, what can realistically be accomplished, whether your skin is ready for treatment, and what the process may involve before deciding how to proceed.
There is no assembly-line approach here.
Every scar is different. Every skin tone is different. Every story is different.
And the work should reflect that.
More Than Camouflage
I don’t believe the purpose of restorative tattooing is to erase someone’s history.
Scars, surgeries, stretch marks, changes in pigmentation, and hair loss can all be chapters in a person’s life. For some people, those marks become symbols of strength. For others, they remain something they would simply rather not see every day.
Both perspectives deserve respect.
The Skin Restoration Room exists for the person who decides:
“I am ready for this part of my story to look different.”
My role is to listen, educate, create realistic expectations, and use artistry, precision, and specialized restorative tattoo techniques to help you move toward that goal.
Because sometimes a very small change in the mirror can create a much larger change in how someone feels.
